Smart Vending Machine Payment Systems with Built-In Charging Stations

XCP Corp

Operators running unattended vending, laundry, or car wash locations are increasingly adding EV charging to the same footprint — a car wash bay with a Level 2 charger in an open stall, a laundromat parking lot with a charging pedestal for customers waiting on a wash cycle. The dwell time is already there; the charger just gives it something productive to do.

The part that's easy to get wrong is payment. Running a separate card reader, a separate pricing setup, and a separate reporting login for the charger — on top of whatever's already running the vending or laundry equipment — turns a simple add-on into two systems to manage instead of one.

One payment platform, multiple machine types

XCP's EV chargers run on the same Nayax-powered cashless platform as the rest of the product line — the 1000/1006/2004/2008 Series timer and payment stations for vending, laundry, and access control. A Nayax VPOS Touch terminal handles card and mobile wallet payment the same way whether it's mounted on a washer, a court-lighting timer, or a Level 2 charger, and all of it reports through the same Nayax dashboard.

That means an operator can check revenue across a laundromat's washers and its parking-lot charger in one place, rather than logging into two separate merchant portals.

What the charger side looks like

XCP's EV chargers are 40A, ETL-certified Level 2 units with a J1772 plug (Tesla-compatible with an adapter), available as wall-mounted single-station or wall/pedestal-mounted dual-station configurations. For operators who already have a charger from another manufacturer, XCP also sells retrofit control modules that add Nayax cashless payment to existing Bosch and Clipper Creek hardware, among others — without replacing the charger itself.

Why it's worth pairing

Customers spending 30–60 minutes at a laundromat or waiting through a wash cycle are a natural fit for EV charging — the car is already parked. For the operator, adding a charger on the same cashless platform they're already running means one less system to reconcile at the end of the month.
